Cultural note from the author:

When I was a child, my favorite time of the day was three o’clock, just like in this book. In Japan, three o’clock is traditionally the time to have a treat, especially for children. My mum and grandma used to say, “wait until three o’clock.” As a child, I looked forward to this special time because I would receive various treats, from lollies to a special cake on a plate.
