Morphology is the study of how words are formed through combining meaningful word parts. Learning to recognize common meaningful word chunks (morphemes) is an important part of developing foundational reading skills. The Level 4 lessons give students practice reading words with grammatical endings such as -ing, -ed, & -s; as well as base or root words with suffixes and prefixes. In addition, Level 4 includes lessons to practice reading Informational Text, including activities to develop academic vocabulary and fluency.
