The ‘Old’ Language People shop at 245 Boundary Street West End
0 commentAs you may already know, The Language People bookshop is no longer at 245 Boundary Street West End – its home for the best part of the past 25 years! (The Language People is now run out of office space at 93 Boundary Street West End, and can be found online at www.thelanguagepeople.com.au). The old shop closed down in 2012 and has now turned into a café with a jazz bent courtesy of new building owner and bass player Glenn. Hence its name, Bass Espresso! Lyndal Reid (previous long-standing owner of The Language People), Carmelina Lanza-Volpe (new owner and on this occasion, picture taker), and Glenn recently converged at the café for a coffee and catch up. If you don’t mind a nice coffee, I say get yourself down there sometime and check out what he’s done with the place! As you can see from the pics, ‘The Language People’ sign at the side of the building has been retained as a link to the building’s past.
